Very special Christmas Cards

Posted by | christmas merchandise, kindness | No Comments

Bringing the real meaning of Christmas to cards.

What do I mean?  Well, let’s see.  How about the fact that two cards were designed by a long time supporter Kate Holliday – a card designer.  She did so as she has done every year for ten years as a gift to us.  Exclusive designs at no cost.

The third card was designed by one of our Young Ambassadors – Tabby is 13 and went through treatment for cancer from age 6 to age 9.  She too designed the ‘Angels over the Stable’ card as a gift to us.

Or how about the fact that the cards, envelopes and packaging were donated meaning that, for the 8th year in a row, we an say that we get 100% of card sales.   We aren’t unique in doing this but we are in the minority!

Our cards are still good quality and good value.

Here are the three designs.  All are A6 size so that means it is an ordinary stamp for postage.  All are packed in 10’s.  One design per pack.  £4 per pack.  We can post to you for £1 per pack (UK only).  If you would like to buy any, please do get in touch.  And if you can help us sell out, we would welcome that help too!

1 October – time for some of us to start thinking about buying Christmas gifts for our friends and family.

We have some suggestions for you – as well as being quality, good value products they help our charity too.

Our friends at Hamilton & Inches have designed, exclusively for us, some stunning jewellery

The Shooting Star range comprises a silver necklace, ear-rings (both drop and stud), a charm, and a lapel or tie pin.  This range of jewellery is not available in Hamilton & Inches shop. It can only be bought from us directly.   Every penny from the sales comes to the Charity.

Email us to order yours – we can post out (p and p at cost)

Then we have our friends at Harmonies in Wood – in addition to making us stunning prizes for auction at events Scott has designed these gorgeous glass coasters with the Ripple Retreat logo.

They are available in any colour combination – and we get a lovely donation of £2 per coaster sold.  Each coaster is £15 (would make a fabulous wedding or anniversary gift too)

Order direct from Scott

Clare Steen of Silverbean jewellery has also designed us a range of stunning silver  jewellery.

Have a look – all jewellery can be ordered direct from Silverbean website

A % of each sale comes to It’s Good 2 Give

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who support us by designing, making, and buying our merchandise!

Tis the season to be jolly

It’s time! I have waited till October before mentioning Christmas merchandise!
This year we have two cards
One is a nativity scene and one is a Ripple Retreat scene.
Both are A5 sized and so just need a regular stamp for posting.
We have packed them as a pack of 10 of one design or a pack of 5 of two designs.
We are incredibly lucky once again to have no costs with them so that every single penny from the sales of our cards comes to us. Special thanks to our printers Captivate Creative for their generosity and to Kate Holliday for designing them.
So do you want a pack or two?
If yes, get in touch as soon as possible – we have limited stock and once they are gone, they are gone!
£4 per pack – we can post to you  in UK- at cost.

Our advent calendars are designed by a Ripple Retreat neighbour, Mia. The latest trend is for colouring in – it’s very therapeutic.
We have 200 to sell at a mere £1 each – a fantastic wee Advent gift for the little ones in your life.

They are A3 size
Again, get in touch if you want to buy one (or ten!)

Ripple Retreat scarf

Posted by | christmas merchandise, merchandise | No Comments

A few weeks back I was approached by a lovely guy Neil who is a weaver in Derbyshire.  He wanted to design a scarf to reflect the Ripple Retreat and It’s Good 2 Give.

We chatted back and forth and agreed on

  • Blue, green and brown to reflect the water, trees and greenery in the Trossachs National Park and red to reflect our Charity’s colours.

The scarf is made from non-itchy wool and today the first of my orders arrived.

You can see I roped in my husband to model one for you!

It is lovely and all the lovelier for it being hand made and lovingly designed.

We get £5 from the sale of every scarf and £7.50 from sale of a blanket. Scarves start at £32.50 for adults.

Read more on Neil’s website here.

Thank you, Neil for this generous offer.

Christmas Cards 2013 – Meet the Designers

Posted by | christmas merchandise, Special supporters | No Comments

Last but far from least – meet Kate  Holliday.

I first met Kate when she was working at a luxury stationery store in Edinburgh a few  years ago.  She offered to design me a christmas card and I loved it.

It is about friendship and support and each year our little girl, little boy, their dog, cat and the little wren do something different.  This year I asked Kate to include a toy bus to represent ‘our’ bus.   The result is spectacular.

As you know by now, I asked all our designers a few questions and  Kate’s answers are below.

I wanted  you to meet our designers properly because I am so proud of us getting support from people we know, and  having the cards printed here in Scotland (Perth to be exact) and wrapped and packed here in Edinburgh.

Shop local is something I support and so it seems ok to me to ask you to support us too!

Kate Holliday

“My best friend is a wonderful girl who I call Jim. We’ve been great chums for 12 years. Thanks Jim.

My favourite colour, or colours rather, are a red’dy orange and teal.

My favourite smells. Hard to choose, but off the top of my head……bread baking, cardamom and the smell of the outdoors after a good dose of rain.

Favourite puddings……hot sticky toffee pudding with cold vanilla ice-cream or just a simple bowl of fresh raspberries. Can’t think of many puddings I dislike though!

Something I would love…….I would love to travel north to see the Aurora Borealis. I hope to do this soon!”

Christmas cards 2013 – Meet the artists part 2

Introducing you to our Patron and children’s author, Cathy Cassidy.

Cathy is also an illustrator and has designed these two gorgeous cards for us as part of our range of exclusive christmas cards for 2013.

DSC_5555 DSC_5556

I have asked all our special Christmas card designers five questions so you get to know them a wee bit.

Here are Cathy’s answers.

Who is your best friend?
I have two! Helen is a deputy Head Teacher and lives in Coventry – we met on the first day of our teaching jobs; she was a physics teacher and I was an art teacher, and we bonded over hot chocolate fudge cake. Sheena is a silversmith and lives in France. I hate it that they are so far away, but they are the best friends ever.

What is your favourite  colour?
moss green

and your favourite smell?
Laura Mercier Almond Coconut milk Body Cream is the ‘posh’ answer. The not so posh answer… coconut, almond, vanilla, fresh strawberries… or woodsmoke!

Favourite pudding?
Homemade Banoffee pie!

Anything you would love?
A government that cares more about people than profit

Here is Cathy with one of our Young Ambassadors taken at an event at the Caledonian Hotel on Sunday 10 November.
