Once again, the Precious Metals Workshop have come up trumps with this event – and it benefits four charities – one of which is ours.
Ready, steady, JEWEL! Was born from a “back of a napkin” tea-break conversation in The Precious Metals Workshop in early 2010. After the idea was thrown around the room several times, melted into a crucible, formed in an ingot, hammered out and put through the rolling mill, it emerged as a beautiful creation that’s sole purpose was to bring fun to its participants and raise vital finances to those in need of help.
Loosely basing the idea on the TV show “ready, steady, cook” the idea was to get hold of 12 of Scotland’s new promising graduates and established jewellers, give them an ingredients list of precious metals and precious stones and then 8 hours to make a piece of work.
In association with Hamilton & Inches, on the 30th of August, 2011, the second ever RSJ auction will take place in the Out of the Blue drill hall from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. It is also with great excitement I can reveal to you that Scottish comedian Craig Hill
will host the auction! This year’s work has been made, hallmarked and photographed and can be viewed online here at the Precious Metals Workshop website
. Bidding is already open and active! You can bid on any of the jewellery made by the jewellers with a minimum and maximum bid, like you would on EBay.
