Lynne's Last Blingo

Lynne’s Last Blingo was certainly an event to remember! Not only did it mark the end of Edinburgh Blingo, but it also smashed all fundraising expectations raising the most money ever - £50,500!

The room was full of 360 glamorous ladies – some having been to Edinburgh Blingo since it started 17 years ago. Our hosts Grant Stott and Tonya Macari were there to the very end, and special guest and Patron, Gavin Hastings, made an appearance and even put himself up as an auction prize– to play a round of golf with him!

This years Edinburgh Blingo sees the start of the end of Lynne’s Last Year of Fundraising and organising It’s good 2 give events. She will remain as our Director of Fundraising and the Ripple Retreat but is hanging her fundraising hat up to spend more time with her family and to a better work life balance. Something we can all resonate with!

Lynne has been a full time volunteer since she set up It’s good 2 give with her husband Ian in 2010, volunteering for the past 13 years for 40-50 hours a week, days, evenings, and weekends, so we all agree that Lynne deserves more time off!

Over the past few years, Lynne has built up a small team of paid part time staff to enable her to do this – all bringing with them their own expertise and experience to take over the reins in some areas of the charity. They also volunteer their time at various events over the year to give something back to It’s good 2 give.

You can find out more about our team on the Meet the Team page here on our website.

Lynne’s final fundraising event will be Lynne’s Last Ball at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Edinburgh on 11 November and If the ball is anything like Lynne’ Last Blingo it will be full of fun, nostalgia, fundraising, and dancing!

Glasgow Blingo will continue, led by our wonderful volunteer and trustee, Rosemary Calder. The last event in 2022 was great fun and we’re looking forward to 2024 when it happens all over again!

You can find out about all our future events on our events page.

Finally, we would like to give a HUGE thank you to Lynne for leading on your fantastic fundraising signature event, Edinburgh Blingo. Here’s to its success and to the number of young cancer patients you’ve supported through the money raised.
