2 Minutes with Parent Ambassador Sylvia
Next up in our series of 2 minutes with is our Parent Ambassador Sylvia Wilson.
We’re sure a lot of you can relate to her answer to question 9!
1. How long have you been a Parent Ambassador for It’s good 2 give?
I have been a Parent Ambassador for I think 2 years now but have been involved with the Charity since the very beginning.
2. What inspired you to choose It’s good 2 give?
I met Lynne near the start of my daughter Jennifer’s treatment in 2007. She was there for us all the way and was an amazing inspiration. We got involved with her fundraising when she was with Teenage Cancer Trust and it went on from there.
3. If you were hosting a fundraising dinner to raise funds for It’s good 2 give which 6 famous people would you invite?
Andy Murray, Ewan McGregor, Kate Middleton, Kaye Adams, Sean Connery and Celine Dion
4. Has there been one special moment with It’s good 2 give you'd like to share?
Being at the opening of the Ripple Retreat was very special.
5. What is your favourite .......book, film, food, drink, animal?
‘Eric’ by Doris Lund (I read this over 30 years ago and it was such an inspirational story, I never forgot it. Lassie Come Home (original version), Roast chicken dinner, Rhubarb gin, a dog
6. If you were marooned on a desert island for a year, what 3 items would you take with you?
A sharp knife, a mattress and a toothbrush
7. If you could only play one song for the next 6 months, what would it be and why?
500 miles by The Proclaimers. It’s upbeat and I love it.
8. Which singer would you choose to perform a song at an It’s good 2 give event?
Michael Buble.
9. What would the title of your autobiography be?
Honestly, I have no idea. I don’t think I am ever likely to be writing one. Haha! Possibly it should be called ‘If Only there Were More Hours in the Day’ because that’s how I feel about life. There has never been enough time to do all the things I want to do.
