Stepping Up for Support: West Highland Way Challenge

Over a decade ago, Helen Thompson joined It’s good 2 give as a snack volunteer. She made a significant impact during her time with us and remained a constant supporter throughout the years.

It was through Helen's introduction that we met Linda, one half of the duo behind Willow and White, a company that creates beautiful scented candles. Linda and her sister generously dedicated one of their candles to It’s good 2 give, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to us. This gesture brought us much-needed support and strengthened our bond with Willow and White.

Earlier this year, Linda expressed her desire to take her support to the next level. She and four friends, including Helen, embarked on an ambitious challenge – conquering the West Highland Way, one of Scotland's most iconic long-distance trails.

Their goal was to raise funds for three charities close to their hearts, and we were among the lucky beneficiaries.

The team exceeded all expectations, raising an incredible £3637 split between the three charities. Despite the challenges of the trail, including relentless rain, they found immense joy in the experience.

Last week, Helen, Linda, Anne, Debra and Grace had the opportunity to visit our Ripple Retreat, a sanctuary for people affected by cancer and were deeply touched by the peaceful atmosphere, the stunning surroundings, and the sense of comfort that permeates the retreat.

We are incredibly grateful to Helen, Linda, and their friends for their unwavering support. Their dedication and generosity have made a profound impact on our charity and the lives of those we serve.
