Transforming Hospital Walls into Worlds of Wonder: Our Impact at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People
Step into the Lochranza Ward and other areas of the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh, and you'll be greeted by vibrant, calming scenes of nature. These aren't just pretty pictures; they are a direct result of It's good 2 give's commitment to creating more comforting and engaging environments for young patients and their families.
We are incredibly proud to have funded a substantial amount of the wall art throughout the hospital, investing an amazing £88,000 to bring these beautiful designs to life. From serene mountain landscapes to enchanting forest scenes teeming with red squirrels, foxes, deer, and owls, these graphics transform what would otherwise be bare walls into imaginative and peaceful spaces. This artwork provides a welcome distraction and a touch of beauty during what can be a stressful time.
Beyond the visuals, we also understood the physical toll on parents. That's why we also provided 100 comfy chairs for parents to use in the Lochranza Ward and other areas, offering a much-needed spot for rest and support. We believe that a comfortable and visually appealing environment is crucial for both recovery and well-being.
