A Special Day on the Green: The Joanna Lamb Golf Day

Some events just have a magic about them. The kind where the atmosphere is so welcoming and the purpose so special that it stands out in the calendar. The annual Joanna Lamb Golf Day is one of those events. Held at Turnhouse Golf Club, it's a day of golf, camaraderie, and incredible fundraising, all in memory of a truly special young woman.

This year's event, held last weekend, was simply awesome. It was an amazing tribute to Joanna Lamb, who originally started the event with her family to raise money for It's good 2 give, a charity she held close to her heart. After her passing, her family has continued this beautiful tradition, and they've got the organisation down to a fine art. The event ran seamlessly from start to finish, a testament to their hard work and dedication.

The popularity of the day is proof of its special nature. Tee times sold out in minutes, months in advance! It's clear that the community loves coming together for this cause. And it's no wonder—this is one of the friendliest events you'll ever attend. The members at Turnhouse Golf Club are so welcoming, and the vibe is all about fun and support.

Every detail is a nod to Joanna's memory. Her mum, Angie, takes on the role of head chef, staffing the BBQ at the halfway house with a couple of friends, serving up delicious bacon rolls and burgers all day. Golfers are also encouraged to wear Joanna's favorite color, adding a bright and cheerful touch to the course.

Beyond the greens, the clubhouse is a hub of activity. There are raffles, a tombola, and a baking stall overflowing with treats. This year, the addition of a Willow and White stall, which donated a percentage of its sales, added to the fundraising effort. And of course, the It's good 2 give merchandise table was a popular stop for many.

The most incredible part of the day, however, is the fundraising total. This year, the family raised over £13,000 for It's good 2 give. This money will go directly toward the psychology services the charity funds—an idea that Joanna herself came up with before she died. Knowing that this money will help so many other young people and their families is a truly powerful legacy.

A huge well done to everyone involved, and a very special thank you to Alan, Angie, and Nicola Lamb for continuing to honor Joanna in such a meaningful and impactful way. The Joanna Lamb Golf Day isn't just an event; it's a day of remembrance, community, and hope.
