It's Good 2 Give!  is a newly registered charity (registered charity number: SCO41416) from Scotland's Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year, Lynne McNicoll. In 2005, Lynne, on the eve of her 49th birthday, decided to celebrate in a more giving way: by raising £50,000 for a childrens charity. After four years  Lynne has raised £650,000 mainly through community fundraising.

Among other things this allowed a specialist unit to be opened at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children for 13-16 year olds fighting cancer. 

It's Good 2 Give! will raise funds (our aim is £1million) to:

• Support young people affected by cancer and their families in  Scotland

• create a purpose built retreat in the East of Scotland for families affected by cancer

 'Giving should be memorable not dutiful'

It's Good 2 Give! will also encourage others:

to give time,

to give ideas,

to give skills or

to give blood.

Difficult financial times require different ways of working.

Right now it may be hard for companies to give financial contributions - it may be easier to donate in a different and more caring way, by allowing staff time off to volunteer, by allowing staff to donate their skills.

Same goes for individuals - this is a good time to think of others and to put those thoughts into actions.
